The Puerto Rican community knows first-hand what it’s like to have a brilliant, highly experienced member of one's community with stellar credentials put through the grinder, to have her intelligence and competence questioned or positions distorted because some people do not believe that women of color are worthy of sitting on the Supreme Court.
On the day in which Puerto Rico commemorates its abolition of slavery, we call on the Senate to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as the next Justice on the Supreme Court, to usher in her excellence and depth of legal expertise, and ensure that a Court where 108 white men have served reflects the diversity of this nation.
